In 2019 I travelled from Bangkok to Alaska, passing through some incredible countries on the way. I went on a lot of adventures, some of which I managed to capture on camera. Below are a few 60 second videos that give a glimpse of what I got up to on my year around the world.
I flew into LA and caught rides up the west coast through the incredible Redwoods, along the Oregon coast and up to Seattle. Along the way I saw Cannon Beach, Portland, Haystack Rock, Crater Lake National Park and so many more beautiful spots.
In Alaska I explored Anchorage and hiked through the Chugach, then ventured up to Denali National Park and explored a few of the six million acres surrounding North Americas highest peak.I sepnt 6 weeks hitch-hiking around New Zealand, hiking in Fiordland and sky-diving in Wanaka. I spent a lot of time in Queenstown and then ventured along the west coast up to Franz Joseph Glacier. I caught a ferry from Picton to the North Island where I caught rides to Auckland, and made some incredible memories along the way
I spent an incredible month driving from the south of Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh to the far north of Ha Giang on the chinese border. The adventures hiking through Sapa and motorbiking the Ha Giang loop were some of my favourite of my entire trip, and I hope that this videos captures at least in part the adventures that I undertook.
Flying into Cairns in the north of Queensland was an incredible feeling after 3 months backpacking around Asia. From there I narrowly escaped the Townsville flood and drove south to Sydney. I spent time camping on the beaches all the way down and made many fantastic memories. After a month in Sydney I continued to Melbourne where I caught a ride along the Great Ocean Road, which truly lived up to its name. From Adelaide I decided to continue North to see Uluru in the heart of Australia. The 2000km drive through the desert was a surreal experience.
Thailand was the beginning of my long journey to Alaska. From Bangkok I decided to abandon the beaches and parties to the south and head north into the jungle of Mae Hong Son. From Chiang Mai we drove almost 1000km along Route 1 to Pai, exploring some of the most remote parts of Thailand.
